Peninsula High School is staging a comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games with the play "She Kills Monsters" opening this weekend.

"She Kills Monsters," by playwright Qui Nguyen debuted in 2011. It tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans following the death of her younger sister, Tilly.

When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge.

In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 1990s pop culture, this show offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

The shop opens on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. with subsequent performances on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 and 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13 at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for students under 18.

Purchase tickets through Vendini, by emailing pendramatickets@cox.net or buy them at the student store during business hours or at the box office (cash/check only) one hour before each performance.
