• Shannon Chen, a senior and member of the National Honor Society at Peninsula High School, was named one of 25 national finalists in the National Honor Society Scholarship program. Chen, who will attend Princeton University, was chosen from more than 25,000 applicants and will receive a $3,000 scholarship.

• Semifinalists for the U.S. Presidential Scholarship Program included Noah Korotzer, Michael McFarland, Jack Grimes and Ru Ekanayake of Peninsula High School, and Emily Chao of Chadwick School. Ekanayake, who will attend Cornell University, was named a finalist.

• Alise Kirkpatrick of Palos Verdes High School and Winnie Liu of Peninsula High School received academic scholarships from the Panhellenic Alumnae South Bay Association. So did Bailey Kaufman of CSU Sonoma and Isabella Williams of Loyola Marymount University, who were Penninsula and Palos Verdes high school graduates, respectively.

• Sonari Chidi who attends California Connections Academy has selected the University of Pennsylvania to attend in the fall.
