Marianne Propst, a longtime volunteer with Palos Verdes Peninsula Village, was named its new executive director.

Propst takes the reins from Colleen Cotter, who served as the Village’s first director.

“Marianne’s many wonderful qualities make her the perfect choice as our new executive director, “ said Carolynn Petru, chair of the Village board of directors.

“We are so grateful to Colleen for providing us with a solid foundation. It feels like a very natural transition that builds on Colleen’s legacy and allows Marianne to apply her own talents to further support and improve the PVP Village,” she said.

Propst, a Palos Verdes Estates resident, has a master’s degree in public health with an emphasis on planning and public policy from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in health studies from University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to volunteering at the Village, she’s served as a board member for the Special Children’s League, American Youth Soccer-Region 10 and the Peninsula Committee for the LA Philharmonic.
