Traffic offense/warrant arrest

About 9:50 a.m. in the 200 block of PV Drive West, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for operating a vehicle without a license and for two outstanding warrants.

Theft-mail

About 3:10 a.m. in the 2500 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver and two passengers for mail theft.

Identity theft

Before Aug. 8, a resident’s personal information was obtained by unknown means and used it to open several credit accounts without the victim’s knowledge.

Warrant arrest

About 12:55 a.m. in the 300 block of PV Boulevard, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for outstanding warrants.

Burglary/Identity theft

About 12:46 p.m. in the 900 block of Via Del Monte, officers investigating an illegally parked vehicle arrested someone for burglary, prowling and identity theft.

Vandalism

About 10:44 a.m. at PV High School, someone drove a vehicle on school grounds in a manner that intentionally destroyed the grass on various fields.

Aug. 14

Identity theft

Before Aug. 14, someone obtained a resident’s credit card information by unknown means and used it to make several unauthorized transactions.

Burglary/identity theft/drugs/traffic offense

About 12:02 a.m. in the 300 block of PV Drive West, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested four people for burglary, possession of burglary tools, identity theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver also was charged with driving on a suspended license.

Grand theft

Between about 8 a.m. July 24 and 10 a.m. Aug. 8 on Ocean Crest Court, jewelry was reported stolen.

Burglary (storage container)

Between about 9 p.m. and 3:20 a.m. in the 30900 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, a wooden window cover was pried open and a construction vacuum and a grinder were reported stolen.

Burglary (vehicle)

Between about 4 p.m. July 29 and 9:30 a.m. July 31 in the 30900 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, locks were manipulated and a jack hammer and a grinder were reported stolen.

Attempt burglary (residential)

Between about 1 a.m. July 29 and 10 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 30900 block of Via la Cresta Road, a sliding glass door was smashed. No loss was reported.

Grand theft

Between about noon and 1:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of Vista Mesa Drive, a surfboard and case were reported stolen.

Burglary (residential)

Between about 5:15 and 9:20 p.m. in the 30100 block of Via Victoria, playstation 4 video games were reported stolen.

Grand theft (auto)

Between about 5:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Clint Place, a 2016 white Audi A3 coupe was reported stolen and later recovered.

Burglary (vehicle)

Between about midnight and 9 a.m. in the 30700 block of Ganado Drive, there were no signs of forced entry although a window was left down slightly. The vehicle registration, owner’s manual, and miscellaneous CDs were reported stolen.

Grand theft (auto)

About 1:58 p.m. in the 29700 block of Western Avenue, a 2016 silver Nissan Rogue SUV was reported stolen and later recovered.

Petty theft (unlocked vehicle)

About 8:25 a.m. in the 27500 block of Western Avenue, a shoulder bag, a wallet and miscellaneous credit cards were reported stolen.

Arrests/citations

During this time, one suspect was arrested for elder abuse; one for grand theft auto; one for receiving stolen property; and two for outstanding warrants.

Petty theft

About 2:18 p.m. in the 38700 block of Western Avenue at an open business, a wallet, driver’s license, miscellaneous credit cards, and an iPhone 7 were reported stolen.

Between about 12:30 and 7 a.m. in the 2000 block of Avenida Aprenda, a 2006 blue 4-door Toyota Matrix was reported stolen and later recovered.

Between about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 2100 block of Crestwood Street, an electric bike was reported stolen from an opened and unlocked garage.

Burglary (residential)

About 3:38 p.m. in the 30200 block of Via Rivera, a screen was torn to an open window possibly by an ex-boyfriend.

Adw (instrument)

About 11:45 p.m. in the 4300 block of Via Frascati, someone said a male in a dark Tesla drove past him and stabbed him with a poking instrument while he was standing in front of the location.

Petty theft (shoplifting)

About 8:15 p.m. in the 28300 block of Western Avenue at an open business, cigars were reported stolen.

Burglary (vehicle)

Between about 10 p.m. Aug. 12 and 9 a.m. Aug. 13 in the 6600 block of Via la Paloma, a rear passenger side window was smashed and a gym bag, shoes, miscellaneous clothing and sandals were reported stolen.

Arrests/citations

During this time, one suspect was arrested for domestic violence; four for drug possession; one for grand theft auto; two for vehicle violations; and two for outstanding warrants.

Aug. 1

Grand theft (shoplifting)

Between 7 and 7:30 p.m. at an open business in the Peninsula Shopping Center, numerous lotions, gel, creams and medications were reported stolen and later recovered. Two suspects were arrested.

Aug. 3

Grand theft (shoplifting)

About 10:38 a.m. at an open business in the Peninsula Shopping Center, baby formula was reported stolen.

Arrests/citations

During this time, four suspects were arrested for grand theft auto; one for receiving stolen property; one for vehicle violations; and one for an outstanding warrant.

Petty theft (unlocked vehicle)

Between about 3 and 5 p.m. in the 2200 block of PV Drive North, a drill bag, impact driver, wire cutters, craftsman tools and electrical testing tools were reported stolen.

During this time, one suspect was arrested for grand theft auto; one for receiving stolen property; three for vehicle violations; and three for outstanding warrants.
