Sept. 5

Impaired driver

At about 1:07 a.m. in the 400 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sept. 6

Identity theft

Before Sept. 6 fraudulent checks were produced and cashed using a resident’s information at two unknown locations.

Vandalism

Before 1:19 p.m. in the 1700 block of Via Zurita, an unknown object was used to scratch the paint on the victim’s vehicles that were parked in the driveway.

Public intoxication

At about 7:07 p.m. in the 3300 block of Via Campesina, officers investigating a disturbance at the Palos Verdes Golf Club arrested four subjects for public intoxication.

Sept. 7

Theft

Between Sept. 1 and Sept. 7 in the 2600 block of La Costa Place, a known subject who lived at the residence possibly removed property from the victim’s jewelry box without permission.

Sept. 8

Drugs/warrant arrest

At about 9:49 p.m. in the 200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant. A passenger was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Burglary

At about 6:20 p.m. in the 260 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, property was removed from an unsecured apartment garage. Sept. 9

Drugs/traffic offense

At about 1:01 a.m. in the 200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.

Warrant arrest

At about 2:27 p.m. in the 1500 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant.

Sept. 10

Identity theft

Before Sept. 10, a resident’s credit card information was obtained by unknown means and used to make fraudulent charges. Impaired Driver

Sept. 4

Burglary (vehicle)

At about noon in the 31500 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, a rear passenger window was smashed and a handbag, jewelry, credit cards, driver’s license, money and a backpack were reported stolen.

Burglary (residential)

Between about 2:03 a.m. and 2:08 a.m. in the 28200 block of Montereina Drive, shopping bags, screwdrivers, a sledge hammer, hammer wrenches and a lock box were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in an open garage.

Sept. 5

Burglary (residential)

Between about 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the 5400 block of Elmbank Road, a laptop, vehicle keys, and wristwatch were reported stolen.

Burglary (storage container)

Between about 4:45 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 a.m. Sept. 6 in the 4500 block of Miraleste Drive, a chain lock was cut and a generator, tile saw, pressure washer and extension ladder were reported stolen.

Sept. 7

Attempt burglary (commercial)

At about 8:15 p.m. in the 30900 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, no items were reported stolen.

Burglary (locker)

Between about 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the 28900 block of Western Avenue, a wallet, money and credit cards were reported stolen.

Burglary (vehicle)

Between about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 7 and 6:55 a.m. Sept 8 in the 30900 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, a window was smashed and miscellaneous tools and tool boxes were reported stolen.

Burglary (garage)

Between about 6 p.m. Sept. 7 and 6:45 a.m. Sept. 8 in the 6400 block of Seacove Drive, a door was pried open and a hammer, skill saw, laser level, drill, air compressor, framing gun, level tool, speakers, roto hammer, rock roller, compressor, grinder, palm nailer and pin gun were reported stolen.

Grand theft

Between about 9 p.m. Sept. 7 and 9:10 a.m. Sept. 8 in the 6500 block of Beachview Drive, four vehicle wheels were reported stolen from an unsecured parking garage.

Sept. 8

Petty theft (package)

At about 2 p.m. in the 26800 block of Basswood Avenue, makeup products and party supplies were reported stolen from a front porch.

Arrests/citations

During this time, three suspects were arrested for outstanding warrants.

Aug. 27

Arson (property)

Between about 3 p.m. Aug. 27 and 10 a.m. Sept. 3 in Rollingwood Drive, mail was burned, possibly from a firework explosion.
