A kitchen fire spread into the attic of a Rancho Palos Verdes home, but firefighters got a handle on it quickly and knocked it down Friday morning, April 24, authorities said.

Los Angeles County firefighters received a call just past 9 a.m. for the incident on the 26900 block of Grayslake Road, said Austin Bennett, a spokesman for the Fire Department.

Firefighters knocked down the fire just past 9:30 a.m. No one was injured.

It wasn’t immediately known if anyone was inside the home when the fire broke out. A cost estimate of the damage was not available; investigators were not requested by the firefighters, Bennett said.
