Major retailer Old Navy recently signed a lease to open at Peninsula Shopping Center sometime in late fall, according to a spokesperson for the center.

The shopping center, at the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and Silver Spur Road in Rolling Hills Estates, is currently home to TJ Maxx, Petco, Pavilions and MOD Pizza.

Old Navy will occupy space at the south end of the center between La Salsa and Ulta Beauty. The more than 12,800 square-foot space housed a Sports Authority in late 2015 until that retail chain closed several locations across the country a few years later.

Most recently, the space has been home to seasonal retailers such as Spirit Halloween.

Vestar has owned and operated the shopping center since 2013.

“At Peninsula Shopping Center, we continue to strive to be the go-to destination for the community and now there will be even more great shops and amenities for residents and locals to enjoy,” said Shannon Campbell, Vestar's marketing director.

The nearest Old Navy is in Torrance at Del Amo Fashion Center.

Other recent openings at the Rolling Hills Estates center include It’s Boba Time, Bar Method and San Pedro Fish Market Grille.
