At about midnight on Palos Verdes Drive West and Yarmouth Road, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.

At about 11 a.m. in the 3900 block of Via Valmonte, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant.

Burgarly

Between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the 1400 block of Via Zumaya, power tools were reported stolen at a locked construction site.

Identity Theft

Prior to Dec. 12, an unknown suspect(s) obtained the victim’s IRS refund check by unknown means and cashed the check to purchase unspecified goods.

Prior to Dec. 13, an unknown suspect(s) obtained the victim’s checks by unknown means and used the checks to purchase unspecified goods.

Dec. 14

Vehicle Burglary

Between 8 and 9:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Paseo Del Mar, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s locked vehicle with a hide-a-key and removed miscellaneous property.

Impaired Driver

At 3:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Paseo Del Mar, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Traffic Offense

At 9 p.m. in the 1300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for displaying false registration tabs, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.

Drugs

At 4 p.m. on Via Del Puente and Via Corta, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver and a passenger for possession of a controlled substance.

Vandalism

Between 9:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. in the 2400 block of Chelsea Road, unknown suspect(s) damaged several mailboxes and their support posts by kicking them with the bottom of their shoes.

Theft

Unknown suspect(s) purchased a MacBook from the victim on the “Let Go” website, but after shipping the item to the suspect’s given address, the victim noticed payment was never received.

Burglary (vehicle)

Between 10:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. in the 28100 block of Peacock Ridge Drive, a radar detector, golf clubs and golf bag were reported stolen.

Petty theft (unlocked vehicle)

Between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the 28100 block of Peacock Ridge Drive, an iPhone was reported stolen.

Burglary (vehicle)

Between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the 28100 block of Peacock Ridge Drive, sunglasses, an undisclosed amount of money and a plastic box containing miscellaneous CD’s were reported stolen.

Dec. 10

Petty theft (packages)

Between 1:30 and 2:50 p.m. on Via La Rocca, witness reported seeing a tan colored vehicle, possibly a Toyota, and two passengers – a male and female in their 30s – throwing boxes out the window.

Petty theft (unlocked vehicle)

At 12:20 a.m. in the 28100 block of Peacock Ridge Drive, a staple gun, hat, money and a GPS device were reported stolen.

Dec. 12

Burglary (residential)

At 12:48 a.m. in the 26500 block of Deepbrook Drive, a sliding glass door was smashed and Ipads, coins and a watch were reported stolen. The suspect is a white female, 30-35, medium built, wearing a long sleeve sweater with a hoodie and a long scarf wrapped around her head.

Dec. 13

Burglary (vehicle)

Between 6:05 and 6:45 p.m. in the 5800 block of Scotwood Drive, a garage door remote and money were reported stolen.

Dec. 15

Attempt grand theft (auto)

Between 2:05 and 2:15 a.m. in the 2000 block of Trudie Drive, a driver’s door lock was broken and ignition was punched on a 2011 Ford Econoline van. The suspect – a male wearing dark clothing – was seen running away from the victim’s vehicle.

Arrests/citations

During this time, two suspects were arrested for vehicle violations and three others on outstanding warrants.

At 7:22 p.m. in the Peninsula Center, a laundry basket, blanket and laundry detergent was reported stolen. The suspect is described as a 20-25-year-old male, 5-9, 140-145 pounds with brown hair.

Petty theft (unlocked vehicle)

Between 8 p.m. and 10 a.m. at Via Granada, sunglasses and a vehicle cell phone docking station were reported stolen.

Dec. 14

Grand theft (auto)

At 3 a.m. on Misty Acres Road, a burgundy Mercedez Benz was reported stolen. The vehicle has since been recovered.
