Despite the fog, there was no room for gloom on this June day as students filed into their school’s football stadium to the familiar tune Pomp and Circumstance.

About 600 seniors at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills Estates graduated Thursday, June 6.

Before Principal Brent Kuykendall presented the class for the awarding of diplomas, the class of 2019 heard speeches from classmates Natasha Tieu and Kaylen Ng. Brianna Shepherd sang Andrea Boccelli’s “Time to Say Good-bye.” Senior class president Josh Kahen gave the closing address.

The high school was one of the first in the South Bay to hold its commencement ceremonies.
