A 36-year-old Rolling Hills Estates man was sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison Tuesday, after pleading no contest to possessing child porn and inappropriately touching children in two separate incidents dating back to 2003.
James Anthony Gonzales inappropriately touched an underage family member in 2017 and in a similar instance with an underage family friend in 2003, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.
He was arrested in November 2018, when he arrived unannounced at the home of a 9-year-old girl while posing as a food delivery man, officials said.
“The girl’s mother contacted police and showed cell phone messages from a social media app between Gonzales and her daughter,” the District Attorney’s Office said. “Investigators searched his house where they discovered child pornography.”
Child pornography was also found on Gonzales’ cell phone, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said earlier.
He posed as a 13-year-old boy on the popular social media app TikTok to learn the address of the girl, the Sheriff’s Department said.
“Gonzales initiated sexual and vulgar conversations with at least 21 female minors,” they said.
In November, Gonzales pleaded no contest to one felony count of possession of child porn and to two felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14, the District Attorney’s Office said.
