Los Angeles County firefighters quickly got a handle on a small brush fire in Palos Verdes Estates, keeping the blaze to less than two acres Friday morning, Oct. 25, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the area of 2700 block of Paseo del Mar near the base of a cliffside, said Marvin Lim, a spokesman for the Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, the fire was a quarter-acre.

Just past 6 a.m., firefighters stopped the fire’s progress and the blaze was later fully contained, Lim said. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Lunada Bay Elementary School was to start late as a result of the fire, Palos Verdes Estates police said.

Firefighters remained on scene to watch for hot spots.
