The Peninsula News

The Palos Verdes Peninsula News is the only newspa- per providing in-depth coverage of the local issues and events that affect the lives of those who live and work on the Peninsula. Since 1937, Peninsula residents and merchants have turned to the News every Thursday for insight into this special community. The Peninsula is comprised of four cities: Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Es- tates, Palos Verdes Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes. The News’ staff reports on city council meetings, school district news and city services, such as parks and librar- ies, as well as on housing and commercial develop- ments in the area. The newspaper tracks the activities of elected officials at the local and state levels. It also provides coverage of sporting events, from high school athletics to Little League to equestrian competitions and the Palos Verdes Marathon.

The newspaper celebrates the personal and profession- al achievements of Peninsula residents by running fea- ture stories on those who make valuable contributions to the quality of life in the South Bay. It also announces other special occasions, such as weddings and engage- ments, while paying tribute to the dearly departed that made a difference in their community. In addition to local news, the newspaper also features sections such as So- ciety, which highlights the work of local volunteers and charitable groups; Arts & Entertainment, which show- cases the thriving arts community on the Hill; Commu- nity Calendar, which announces upcoming events; and Opinion, which includes Letters to the Editor and com- mentaries on issues of concern. The newspaper features the full-color supplement Palos Verdes Homes, show- casing homes and properties for sale on the Peninsula.

The News publishes a full-color magazine, Our Town, which spotlights the latest trends and goings-on in this close-knit community. The newspaper is also proud to offer award-winning special sections, which focus on topics such as health and beauty, weddings, home decorating and gardening. If you are interested in attract- ing the shoppers of the South Bay, consider advertising in The Beach Reporter, just as the hundreds of success- ful current advertisers do each week.
