The top of the leaderboard for the CIF Southern Section girls golf individual regional was loaded with players from Palos Verdes High School.

Sea Kings junior Meg Yoshida shot a 1-under 70 to finish first in the Northern Regional at Soule Park in Ojai, and right behind her in second place were two of her teammates, Kiyomi Komatsu and Frances Kim, at even par.

Those three were also among the group of 36 golfers who qualified for the CIF Individual Championship & WSCGA Qualifying Tournament on Nov. 7 at Western Hills Country Club in Chino Hills.

Also advancing were Redondo’s Reagan Staab, who shot a 1-over 72, Torrance’s Aimee Uchida (74), West Torrance’s Reina Tain (75), PV’s Keira Wang (75) and Mira Costa’s Shani Waite (77).
